Overall State :
1979 Petrol Iltis from German Army Tank division (used as support vehicle). Overall mechanical shape is good, running well, no smoke, no leaks.
All document up-to-date (Road Paper / F5 on my name and tangues “collection car »). MOT to be approved soon (front bushes, front shocks, Rear knee, handbrakes cables), no later than 03/03/17.
Negative points
– lower body + footers rusted. All rust removed (cutter through properly, paint and anti-rust treatment applied + Steel sheets with rivets to protect, hence you’ll be able to rebuild body back with no issues)
– Wings inner part rusted (no holes), stopped thanks to oily spray
– no spare wheel
– rear par remodelled by previous owner (drop door in poor condition)
– no rear seats
– Original fuel pump there but de-activated. 2 extra facet fuel pumps added near engine
– short exhaust (noisy) but no holes
– trailer electrical plug removed as source of mis fire (still there but de-activated)
Positive points
– Carb rebuilt
– body full paint (olive grün – Bundeswehr standard color) + Inner body in black
– All mobile parts (front gril, bumpers…) removed, repainted and reset back
– Sparks changed
– all fluid checked (wheel base, gearbox, transfert box, engine..)
– drum brakes rebuilt + handbrake rebuilt
– Electric cables checked (not rebuilt)
– 2 roofs available (summer / winter) in poor share but not leaking
– 4 doors available But poor shape
Bought as barn find, good daily but aging. Strong and reliable but deserve some love and attention …. And accessories.Lean base for restauration
